https://www.purepc.pl/felietony/msi_..._glownych_x570

PCIE cost increase from ~$10 to ~$18?
VRM increased in cost from ~$10 to ~$18 maybe $20
PCB cost increase from ~$10 to ~$15

Cooling (includes chipset fan I guess) increased from $10ish to ~$15 , note MSI is using about 50mm diameter Powerlogic fans

LAN looks to have increased as well which doesn't seem quite right since a Realtek 8111H is used on x570 Gaming Plus

X470 total = $100 vs X570 total ~$130-135ish

WTS 6700k/Maximus 8 Gene/16gb Ram/EK waterblock

Ok so all this comes together. Original box no accesories except for the IO shield.

Number one

6700k. Delidded. Will run 4.8. Never pushed it higher left at 1.3 volts on 4.7 since I've owned it. Kept very cool. Heatspreader however is not "reapplied" it's sitting on top of the CPU with the water block clamping it down.

Maximus 8. Motherboard has been a powerhouse. mATX just for those who do not know.

EK Waterblock Supremecy Evo. I'd like to leave it mounted to the motherboard for shipping. It's dirty. I've just finished a 3900x build and I really don't feel like cleaning this. If it sits however I may get around to it. Will update. Mayhems fluids only mostly pastel white.

16GB 2x8gb Corsair sticks. XMP profile is DDR4000 CL15 I believe. CMK16GX4M2B3000C15

Things you should know. Number one block is dirty and I haven't gotten around to cleaning it. Number two block is showing minor cracking around the inlet. There's a lot of plexi between it and the block but I really don't know if this will be a future issue. Taken the best picture I can to illustrate. Number three the CPU is delidded with LM. If you leave it as is it will take any cooler just fine.

Otherwise things are working great. Just made a new build and getting rid of it rather then let it sit.

250 bucks if you take it all together.

Ryzen Master Utility

From my experiments, I don't think the stress test in this app is very good at informing the end user as to the systems stability.. at least with a manual OC attempt.
I have updated the bios to the latest for my rig in rigbuilder. Installed the latest version available for this app from AMD
and set the time for the stress test to maximum 300 seconds with both cpu & ram.

With the settings I have for my manual OC, it passed the stress test. However upon running Cinebench R20, the system crashes half way through the multi thread cpu test.

So what's the best bang-for-the-buck GPU (mini or not) that I can get for an AMD 3700x system that will be used for light to medium rendering?

I can't for the life of me find any buttons or links to delete old pics associated with one's rigbuilder rig.
Is this even possible or are we stuck with them?

Best recent laptop that can run W7

Hi guys, looking for a laptop that will comfortably run most games at medium settings. must have a dedicated GPU, prefer GTX980m or better and 16+GB ram. Maximum budget would be somewhere around AUD 1300, less is better. I'm looking for new or used, prefer 15 inch. I'm not placing much requirements on other features or hardware as I'll take whatever can run w7.

Having a look around some people have had luck with installing windows 7 on newer hardware however previous laptops I've used have had locked down BIOS's that made dualbooting or changing OS so much harder. I'd like to know for certain what laptops can run W7 before I commit myself to a purchase. Would be better if theres some more freedom in the bios, at least and option for legacy mode/CSM and disabling secure boot to make the experience less of a headache.

most problems seem to be with USB and NVMe Drivers. Desktop motherboards have easier work arounds such as PCIe USB adaptors that are needed for the H370 chipset which can't detect USB at all, however in laptops this luxury does not exist.

Ive currently looked at:

Clevo P650SG
ASUS Helios 300 (ideal but all accounts say that W7 is basically impossible to get working on this HM370 chipset due to USB drivers)
Alienware 17 R2
Alienware 15 R1
Alienware 13 R1
asus Gl502v
Asus G751
Gigabyte P57w
Aorus X5S v5

I have only been able to determine for certain that the Alienware models can support windows 7.

S1220A / S1220 compared to Xonar cards?

How's the performance of the S1220A and S1220 on ASUS boards compared to a Xonar DGX and DSX?

I might finally be upgrading my Ivy Bridge system to Ryzen and wanted to know if I should carry over my old sound cards.

Adding colored Cryofuel to Clear Cryofuel

$

Hello All,

Bottom line up front.
Can I simply add Blood Red Cryofuel to my clear Cryofuel and just go back to red.
This isn't the EK solid red. It is the clear red.

I am running Cryofuel Clear on my setup currently.
I used to run Cryofuel Red and wanted to switch to clear.
That being said I haven't been able to clean out all of the red so my fluid has a slightly pink color.

I used Blitz Part 2 for 24 hours and flushed the system with approximately 6 gallons of distilled water and am still getting pinkish fluid and it is especially noticeable in my reservoir.
I think that the only way for me to get completely clear is to disassemble my whole system, wash each part individually, and then reassemble.

That being said, I don't want to do that right now.
So my question is, can I simply add Blood Red Cryofuel to my clear Cryofuel and just go back to red.

Thanks for your feedback.

Which waterblock

I am updating my system and am probably going full AMD (3700x/5700xt) I will watercool both CPU and GPU as I already have everything but the blocks. Currently only EK has blocks for the GPU but I am sure that will change. I am looking at CPU blocks and can't decide between the heatkiller IV and the Velocity. Which do you think is better and why?

5700 or 5700 xt?

I'm wondering which one has a better price vs performance with a for now stock fan over clock? I know someone with a discount card at a brick n mortar and can get the 5700 for 315 or the 5700 xt for 360 :). I know drivers, load fan, not to worried about either. Drivers will get better, the fan doesn't bother me I can't hear it over the video game\music and I will mod it later with some water cooling for funzies.

I've been shopping all morning.... in case anyone is interested. ill update my mobo ram cpu combos with links later for someone else to use. I need to get off this 4690k already.

Acer x34p G-sync broken ?

$

Hey guys,

jost got my Acer x34p today but I'm having problems with G-sync and think the module is probably broken ?

Short video of the problem :
https://streamable.com/5khg6
You can see the flickering at the beginning and the horizontal line that occur on the top left.

With G-sync the Screen is flashing/flickering up until this point -> https://imgur.com/GnBAHff
Only the left side of the screen is affected.

It's kind of a bummer. BLB and Ips glow is fine. 120 oc without G-sync is also fine.

Maybe some of you have any advice, I would highly appreciate it.

I'm thinking it is a hardware issue tho but idk...

Edit: What I've tried.
- newest nvidia driver
- 3 different DP cables on different outputs of my gtx 1070
- Turning on VYSNC in nvidia control panel
- Problem doesn't go away with 100 hz and G-sync on

Edit : 2

I played a lil bit around and found out that when I resize the Monitor to the resoultion 3440x1426 with nv Control panel (https://imgur.com/eiyFOh6)
the problem is GONE.

Edit : 3

Installed CRU set custom resoultion to 3440x1439 -> Problem Gone...

Thanks

Hey guys

It might be informative for everyone to post their thermal results at stock settings for Zen2 along with the cooling configuration used.
I get the impression that some blocks cool the off centre die better than others.

Asus Maximus XI Code Help

Hey,

I am currently in the process of getting info to complete my build. Currently looking to pair the Maximus XI Code with a i9 9900K that will not be overclocked. I am kinda on the fence with the Maximus XI Code and want some help.

Does Asus make reliable well built motherboards?

With this controversy of only being 4 phases doubled to 8 or whatever will it be fine with a 9900K?

I also heard the Maximus XI line up had dim RGB lighting especially on the IO cover is this true?

Overall how is Asus Maximus XI lineup

Need advice on purchasing new computer case as a gift

Hello everyone. My nephew has taken a great interest in PC modding and I want to surprise him with a state-of-the-art, bare bones computer case. I have been researching the largest, most sophisticated computer cases I can find and am willing to spend about $1K. My nephew will get into water cooling, RGB lighting, etc.

What would you recommend? Here's what I have been considering:

Thermaltake Level 20

Lian Li PC-D888WX 8Pack Limited Edition ATX Cube Case

Phanteks Ethoo Elite
http://phanteks.com/Enthoo-Elite.html

Corsair Obsidian 1000D
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Catego.../CC-9011148-WW

What you recommend based on the 4 choices above? Or, is there another case on the market that I can consider? I am limiting my search to pre-manufactured cases, not custom-made cases.

Thanks for your help!

Best ventilation for a Ryzen 5 3600?

Hi, I'm a rookie at this. I currently have masterair ma620p and want to change it for a better one when I have the new Ryzen processor. I heard that the firm Noctua has a very good reputation. I also saw on different pages that water cooling solutions are better. I'm confused. So I ask for advice to users with knowledge of this forum to choose the best cpu cooler. Thank you very much in advance. Best regards.
