Help me find an ITX combo?

$

Hi all. Maybe my search skills aren't up to snuff, or maybe there just aren't any used ones right now. But I was hoping that someone here could help me find an ITX motherboard/CPU combo on ebay. Preferably one that comes with I/O shield, cpu heatsink, and RAM. I'd like it to be somewhat older so that it's cheap. Looking for as cheap as possible. Maybe socket 1155 or something. Been looking around and I can't seem to come up with anything that fits the criteria. There's newer stuff, but it's all pretty high.

I'm just building a little HTPC, that I want to use with a 1080p TV. So this doesn't have to be the latest and greatest. Later I'll want to run a 4k TV with it, but I figure I'll just upgrade the graphics card to whatever replaces the GT-1030. In a year or two.

Afterthought - Yes it does have to be a PC. I cannot use a fire stick or a shield or any of the rest of that stuff. I'm building an HTPC.

Zenith II Extreme Monoblock?

Can we get a confirmation if there be a Zenith II Extreme Monoblock? Separate VRM Block? or Nothing planned at all?

I'm trying to decide on if I should just purchase a EK-Velocity sTR4 block right now or wait for a monoblock if that's in the works.

Win 7, 64-bit frequent crashes

Hello everyone,

My system (Windows 7, 64 bit) has been crashing a lot since the last few days. Troubles started when I installed a new stick of RAM, a Kingston 8GB 1866 Mhz, replacing a Transcend 4 GB, 1333 Mhz that I have been using for the past several years. The system now had the new 8GB stick and another existing 4GB for a total of 12 GB of memory.

After several crashes, I obviously suspected the RAM. So I ran memtest86+ on the new RAM module, and it passed all tests. Yet, the crashes continued. About 3 days ago, my system failed to boot. I removed the new RAM and went back to my old 2x4GB configuration. The system booted alright, but the BSODs refuse to go away. I have had 4 crashes in the past 3 days.

I'm attaching the SysnativeFileCollectionApp and Perfmon reports. Please help.

Thanks.

RAM Cache Help

I plan on setting up a 16GB RAM cache but have a few questions:

-What software is recommended? I plan at this point to use the Asus RamCache software.

-How do I protect from write loss in the event of a power failure? I only want to cache reads, not writes. Is this possible?

-Should I disable Windows Superfetch and leave everything up to the RAM cachce?

Any other "best practices"? Thanks.

Better memory cooling on 1660 Ti?

While overclocking my ASUS Strix 1660 Ti I've found out that the memory is very susceptible to temperature. Overclock to +1400, fans 100%, and deskfan pointed inside the case for lowest temps and it's stable. Core is at stock.

Once I close up the case and leave the fan speed on auto it's stable for a short while then shows artefacts and crashes. So this leads me to believe it's a memory cooling issue..

Is there anything I can do to improve memory cooling?

2700X PBO

I got the $160 + 15% CB on black friday from Amazon ($135)

On my MSI b450m gaming plus I noticed PBO default to on and the chip runs 3975-4025 mhz in cinebench r20 multicore (Scores 4050) and around 4150-4176 in single core (Scores 420). Temps with a gammax 400 are around 80 cel. If I disabled PBO it runs stock and temps are down to 65-70cel. I have a -0.125 cpu offset set in bios.

I'm guessing I should just manually overclock to 4.1-4.2 ? I wanted to keep the cool and quiet since I am using this system as a file server and gamer.

Looking for a TRX40 mobo [Help meeehhh! :P]

Greetings!

Basically this one is gonna be my first AMD ever.
I tryed to stay with Intel to the last.. but i really can't wait an unknown amount of time for an anyway lower cpu [talking about 10980xe] ..

So i'm going to buy a 3960x or 70x .. not sure yet. Mobo's price will affect the choice too..

Now, substantially ,I've used only Asus mobos in the last 15 years or so... Asus bios is home to me... considering i'm already switching to AMD.. maybe having a Bios i know could be usefull.. BUT not mandatory.. i mean: i'm not a fanboy [exept for EVGA and about GPUs, but that's another story].

Anyhow: was looking to the Asus proposals at first..

Now.. do i really need a ZENITH II EXTREME (900 boxes) when i could buy a STRIX TRX40-E (500) ??

I mean i really don't care about 3.2 usb and more M.2 4.0 slots... really!

If in terms of oc and performance both are the same.. oh well.. i'd spend more on cpu for sure rather than paying things i don't need at all.

That being said, i repeat, i'm not stick to asus.. any suggestion is very very wellcome.

Have a good day and thank you.

Greetings.

Now, this is going to be my first AMD ever, i can't make a decision.

I have always bought the top from intel.. but to be honest 3960x [could have it for 1600] seems more than enought to me right now... but i keep hearing that voice in my head "it's not the best, it's not the best.."... I can't seem to shut it of :).

Point is 70x is 2200 boxes, 500 more!

Please, convice me that 3960x is more than enough.. please!!

[Btw, i'm not an hardcore gamer, used to be, not anymore.
I don't work with graphic, never.
I need speed in datas elaboration [statistic research, correlations, exetera..] ....i have a dedicated workstation in office anyhow... but well you know... being able to shave some work at home is always a good thing.

Thank you and have a good day.

140 Fans for Radiator

What are the best fans for radiators. With 120mm fans it's easy just grab the best Noctua's but their 140mm ones don't compare to the 120mm ones, so I'm unsure what ones to get.

[AnandTech] Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon 865 and 765(G): 5G For All in 2020, All The Details

Quote:

We’re here in Maui for the second day of Qualcomm’s fourth annual Snapdragon summit, for what is probably the most exciting part of the event, as we cover the disclosure of the intricate details of the brand new Snapdragon 865 and 765 SoCs that the company had briefly announced yesterday.

Indeed, this year, Qualcomm isn’t launching just one SoC, but rather two new platforms at the same time. The Snapdragon 865 is self-explanatory in its positioning; as a direct successor to the Snapdragon 855 we expect the new chip to represent the best Qualcomm is able to deliver, and be the silicon that powers most of 2020’s flagship devices. The new top-model this year is accompanied by the new Snapdragon 765 and 765G SoCs. As with other 7-series models since the launch of the new range, the new generation adds of the new features introduced with the new Snapdragon 865, at a lower performance level and a more affordable price for what is becoming an increasingly popular device category.

So I got the new 1650 Super

About the new RTX 2080Ti Super (TecLab)

$

We made a transformation and created the "RTX 2080Ti Super" and it was related in the video.

Then, we used 2 x RTX 2080 Super to get the memories 16 Gbps.

Now, we put the RTX 2080Ti memories (14 Gbps) to save the cards.

You can follow the process in the video:

https://youtu.be/fzBEgwWy-WU

We are still trying to enable the 12th memory modules, but cards working perfectly, and even overclocking with mixed memories (14 Gbps and 16 Gbps running together).

Best wishes

For the people that wants to see the first vídeo, that's it:

Gaming Keyboard

Hi There, I'm planning to upgrade my keyboard. I've been playing a lot of RPG games lately and I feel there's something lag happening in between. I'm looking at Corsair K95 RGB Platinum but the price is just outrageous. A mid-range keyboard like Logitech G413 looks very competitive as well. Has anyone had any feedback on these?

Wasteland 2 DC flicker/skipping ?

Anyone try WL2 Directors cut ? I hardly ever played that type of RPG, I'm having a lot of fun so far on easy. I bet it's real easy to run out of ammo on harder diff levels.

Anyone play it ? What type of monitor do u have? I'm on a 155Hz freesync monitor, v-sync is off. I get some sort of flicker or skipping when moving around sometimes, it's like a stutter, IDK if it's just the camera acting weird, or a screen problem. The game is from 2014, so it not really old or anything.

Motherboard /RAM for Celeron G4900 worth it ?

My current backup rig is a dual core Celeron G540, 32nm, w/8GB of ddr3 1333. It's just for when my main rig goes haywire. Thats from 2011, and it's always been very slow on start up, even with win7. And just slow at anything, even surfing. In emergencies I should have faster internet.

I have a G4900 from 2018, 14nm, it's hardly worth trying to sell. What's the cheapest mobo and 8GB ddr4 I could probably find ? Overall I don't need it, but just in case I want to waste more money, whats bottom of the bottom I could get ? And would it actually be much faster, apart from on paper ?

Thermalright macho rev.C

New revision, with 158 height limit to fit now in most cases. That's really great news, if it wouldn't be for the fact that, yet again the base plate it's convex.....which renders it's performance useless on ryzen, especially on the quirky 3000 series ....
Why is thermalright pushing that coldplate, even with AMD outselling Intel 3 to 1 in the DIY market, it's beyond me..... To my eyes, the coldplate should be made with AMD IHS in mind, and compatible with Intel's, not the other way around....
I know the ARO M14, it's there, but the support it's exclusive to AM4.....and it's 162mm tall...

In Europe, it's already available on LDLC and ALTERNATE, at 67€ and 50€ respectively.

Really disappointed to be honest......

Low GPU usage, low FPS = CPU bottleneck?

$

In general if you have low GPU usage in a game (say less than 90%), low FPS (say less than 60 FPS) does that indicate a CPU bottleneck? Or could it indicate some sort of system memory bottleneck (either high latency or low memory bandwidth)?
